Capehart Scatchard Lawyers Present Depositions Seminar
Mt. Laurel, NJ - - Capehart Scatchard attorneys
Stephen J. Alexander, Esq. and
Matthew R. Litt, Esq. recently presented a seminar entitled
Nuts & Bolts of Depositions sponsored by the Burlington County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division.
The seminar was broken into 3 parts: preparing for the deposition, conducting the deposition and using the deposition transcript . Mr. Alexander focused on the strategy and approach to conducting the deposition and how to handle objections. Mr. Litt moderated the seminar and gave tips for preparing a witness to testify and how to manage over-aggressive counsel during depositions.
Mr. Alexander, a resident and former Mayor of Upper Freehold Township, focuses his practice in all aspects of tort defense, employment and construction litigation representing large and small business owners and manufacturers in state, federal, and administrative levels. He represents a diverse group of national and local clients including developers and contractors, telecommunications, transit authorities, insurance companies, and manufacturing institutions. He has successfully represented his clients in personal injury, products liability, and discrimination jury trials in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Alexander has been recognized as one of South Jersey's "Top Attorneys" as published by SJ Magazine, 2008-2009 as voted by his peers.
Mr. Litt, a resident of Chesterfield, focuses his practice in general litigation throughout the federal and state courts of New Jersey and New York with a concentration on insurance defense matters. He is an Adjunct Legal Research and Writing Professor at Seton Hall University School of Law.
His outside interests include historical research and he is member of the Historical Society of the Courts of the State of New York and the United States Supreme Court Historical Society. Mr. Litt is the author of a nonfiction book entitled "Christmas 1945 - The Story of the First Christmas After the Second World War."
