Capehart Scatchard shareholder, John H. Geaney, recently spoke at the New Jersey Self Insurers’ Association’s 2026 Workers’ Compensation Conference and Vendor Fair. Capehart Scatchard was a Gold Sponsor of the event held at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, NJ on May 13-15, 2026.
Mr. Geaney served as the moderator on a program titled, “How to Get the Most Out of Your IMEs and Reduce Permanency Awards.” The panel discussed the importance of selecting the appropriate independent medical examination expert for a particular permanency case, as well as the value of obtaining a petitioner’s prior medical history.
Mr. Geaney is a member of Capehart Scatchard’s Executive Committee and Co-Chair of its Workers’ Compensation Group. He is active in the New Jersey Self Insurers’ Association (Membership and Programs Committees), as well as Kids’ Chance of New Jersey. Mr. Geaney is a member of the National Workers’ Compensation Defense Network and is the author of Geaney’s New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Manual for Practitioners, Physicians, Adjusters, and Employers.
