Diversity & Inclusion Committee

Capehart and Scatchard is pleased to announce that in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Diversity & Inclusion Committee at the firm, in conjunction with Burlington Country Bar Association, collected $1,805 in monetary donations as well as donations of Uber cards, food, clothing, and hygiene products to benefit Providence House and Legacy Treatment Services.  In addition, eighteen volunteers from the firm participated in a day of service on January 16, 2021 at Providence House by sorting donations and doing yard work at the facility.

Providence House, which is located in Westampton, provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic abuse and their children.  Legacy Treatment Services, which is located in Hainesport, provides a vast array of services, such as crisis intervention, developmental and intellectual disability services, out of home care for children and youth, outpatient additional treatment services, and opiate and alcoholism treatment.

Capehart Scatchard hosted a remote panel discussion on July 14, 2020 for first year law students from Rutgers Law School in Camden. The students are part of the Rutgers Minority Student Program.

Capehart Scatchard attorneys, Christopher Chu, Sanmathi (Sanu) Dev, Ashley Mollenthiel, Cameron Morgan, Robert Muccilli, Lora Northen, Jessica Rodio, Michael Rose, and Lauren Tedesco, and summer law clerks, Meline Derderian, Crosley Gagnon, Matthew Kountz, and Nina Rodriguez served as panelists participating in a discussion on law careers in private practice. The panelists shared insights about succeeding in law school, increasing diversity and inclusion in the profession, and the importance of being open to exploring various practice areas and opportunities. The event was hosted by Capehart Scatchard’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, which Ms. Dev leads.
