Attorneys and staff from Capehart Scatchard’s Workers’ Compensation Department recently attended the Eleventh Annual Fundraising Gala and Auction for Kids’ Chance of New Jersey (“KCNJ”). The event was held on July 24, 2025, at the Hilton in East Brunswick, N.J.

Kids’ Chance of New Jersey is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing scholarships for college and vocational education to the children of workers who have been fatally or catastrophically injured in workplace accidents. John Geaney, Co-Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Department, serves as a member of KCNJ’s Board of Directors. Marketing Department Co-Directors, Carol Wright and Beth Hopkins, serve as members of the Active Founder Board and Advisory Board, respectively.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of scholarships to 21 students whose parents have experienced life-altering work-related injuries or fatalities.  Capehart Scatchard was honored to co-sponsor the scholarship awarded to Benjamin Moskovitz, a third-year student at the University of Delaware. Benjamin’s father was permanently disabled due to a severe back injury sustained on the job.
