On June 12, 2024, Workers’ Compensation Department associates, Ashley Attinello, Ryan Slocum, and Megan Wilson, presented a CLE entitled “The Effects of Affirmative Action on Unconscious Bias.” Jaclyn Terranova, a shareholder in the Workers’ Compensation Department and Chair of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s Firm Events and Education Subcommittee, served as moderator for the panel discussion hosted by the Diversity & Inclusion Committee at the firm.
The participants provided an overview of recent court decisions surrounding affirmative action and the repercussions stemming from those decisions. The panelists closed the CLE with a practical discussion on how to recognize and combat unconscious bias in the workplace.
