Jennifer Cottell Presents at NJPRIMA’s Fall Seminar

Capehart Scatchard Shareholder, Jennifer A. Cottell, Esq., spoke on September 10, 2026, at the New Jersey Public Risk Management Association’s (NJPRIMA) Fall Educational Seminar. The event was held at the Holiday Inn in East Windsor, New Jersey.

During her presentation on recent developments in New Jersey workers’ compensation law, Ms. Cottell provided an overview of key provisions of the New Jersey First Responder Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Protection Act. She also discussed a recent Appellate Division decision addressing financial penalties imposed on an employer for the late payment of a settlement order, as well as a Supreme Court decision concerning the rebuttable presumption applicable to an employee’s estimated claim for lost wages. Ms. Cottell concluded her presentation by offering practical tips for avoiding the assessment of counsel fees.

A member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department, Ms. Cottell focuses her practice in the representation of employers, self-insured companies, and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation defense matters. She earned her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University and her B.S., cum laude, from Rutgers University.  She is admitted to practice in New Jersey.
