Capehart Scatchard is pleased to announce that Laurel B. Peltzman, Esq. and Samantha J. Vander Wielen, Esq. are recipients of the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2016 New Leaders of the Bar award.

The New Jersey Law Journal presents the prestigious New Leaders of the Bar award on an annual basis to a select group of New Jersey attorneys under the age of 40. Criteria for the selection of these rising stars include demonstrated leadership qualities, expertise in litigation, charitable volunteer work and other factors that exemplify the ways that these attorneys stand out among their peers. A seven-judge panel reviews all nominations from the State and narrows their list down to reflect only those attorneys that exhibited the qualities and experience that make each of them a 2016 New Leader.

Ms. Peltzman, a Cherry Hill resident, focuses her practice in the representation of public and private sector employers in the areas of labor and employment matters. She regularly represents public and private sector clients in labor and employment litigation and provides employers with advice regarding various employment-related matters. She also provides training seminars for employers and their employees on many different topics, including appropriate behavior in the workplace. Ms. Peltzman is a member of the New Jersey, Camden County and Burlington County Bar Associations.  Additionally, she is a member of Philadelphia’s Regional Chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management.

Ms. Vander Wielen, a Burlington County resident, focuses her practice in general litigation throughout the federal and state courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania with a concentration on insurance defense and business matters. She has successfully represented clients in all aspects of litigation in cases involving construction, products and premises liability, business and contract disputes, restrictive covenants, property subrogation and personal injury.  She has extensive experience representing both national and international businesses and corporations in commercial litigation matters involving contract, employment, proprietary information and business disputes.  Ms. Vander Wielen also counsels and advises businesses on these issues in order to avoid litigation.  Ms. Vander Wielen is currently the 2015-2017 Young Lawyer Trustee of the Burlington County Bar Association.
