On September 24, 2026, firm attorneys Giovanna Carlino and Kenneth Chiarella, presented a Continuing Legal Education (CLE ) session titled ”Women’s Legal Rights from the Age of Helen of Troy to Hillary Duff: A Story of Ebbs and Flows Throughout History.” The CLE was hosted by the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
During the presentation, Ms. Carlino and Mr. Chiarella provided a broad historical overview of the evolution of women’s legal rights across different societies and legal systems, including Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, and the United States. Additionally, they spoke on the significant laws, regulations, and court decisions that restricted, expanded, or otherwise shaped the nature and scope of women’s legal rights within each political system.
Ms. Carlino is an associate in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department. She earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School and her B.A. in Political Science and English from the College of the Holy Cross. She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
Mr. Chiarella is a shareholder in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department. He earned his J.D. from New York Law School and his B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University. Upon law school graduation, Mr. Chiarella worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Craig L. Corson, J.S.C. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York.
