Mt. Laurel, NJ – – Capehart Scatchard shareholder, Claire Y. Ringel, and Richard E. Hickey, III, former Workers’ Compensation Judge, recently spoke at a Burlington County Bar Association seminar in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
Ms. Ringel moderated the seminar entitled “Workers’ Compensation Essentials.” Judge Hickey spoke on the topic of “Practical Issues in Calculating New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Awards.” In his presentation, Judge Hickey covered the basic issues of calculating settlements, as well as stacking, Section 40 lien, reopeners and credits for prior awards.
Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Workers’ Compensation Trial Attorney, Ms. Ringel is a Marlton resident and received her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden, with honors and her B.A. degree from Douglas College, Rutgers University – New Brunswick. Ms. Ringel is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the United States Supreme Court.
Judge Hickey, a West Deptford resident, received his law degree from Suffolk University School of Law and his B.S. degree in business administration from American International College. Judge Hickey served as a Workers’ Compensation Judge from 1991 until 2009.
